Hi all! If you don’t know me already my name is Ben ‘Pen’ Jones, so-called for my propensity for being a caricaturist for hire and general pen-slinger.
I’ve been drawing caricatures at parties, weddings and all manner of events around the West Midlands and wider UK for more than a decade and the fabulous town of Birmingham is my home.
Recently, thank the rainbow unicorn in the sky, the events world has picked up again and I’m out traipsing all across the UK leaving caricatures in my wake. As I steel myself for the wedding onslaught
before me, I thought I’d share some archive caricatures from last year I hadn’t managed to post before.

A PEAKY PARTY
Last summer was a tentative dance for a caricaturist for hire like me, but despite everything going on I still managed to get some gigs, particularly in my home of Birmingham.
One such event was a Peaky Blinder themed party for someone’s anniversary in a garden in south Birmingham. It was so very nice to see people in good spirits getting together with live music and
cocktails flowing, and as ever I very much enjoyed drawing caricatures of people in costume! In fact, because of my flat cap and suit they assumed I had come in costume too!(win-win there!)

A NUDIST WEDDING
Events I didn’t end up attending last summer but I wish I had include a nudist wedding that I had an enquiry about. Yes you heard that right, a NUDIST wedding.
So, so many questions ran through my mind, as you can imagine. They would have also have required ME to be nude, which I was fine with(don’t get any ideas people) but the only question was;
Where was I going to keep my pens??
A WEDDING IN COVENTRY
The more I visit Coventry the more I love it, so I was well chuffed to be a caricaturist for hire at a 1-year old’s birthday there last summer.

IN SUMMARY
So, being a caricaturist for hire is still my main crust, even though I continue to do other work, such as private commissions (check out the portfolio why dontcha?- https://penjones.co.uk/portfolio-new/ ),
