Being a caricaturist for hire(in non apocalypse times) I’m usually trundling all over the UK to weddings ‘n’ parties in my snazzy suit ready to jump out of the cab and drawing a whole heap of revellers at near-lightning speed.
Now of course, all we have is time, so I’ve spent an unprecedented few weeks on ONE CARICATURE of David Bowie! Does it look like him? Kiiiinda…. :/
Well to get back into the swing of speediness I thought I’d draw a fast portrait of one of the three human people that live in my house; Me.
I might do a few more of these to be honest because it was good fun, I LOVE using my pentel brush pen and experimenting with different ways to create hair effect with it.
When beastly corona is driven back enough for weddings to come back I think I’ll probably use the pentel, with some potential cheeky copic ciao shading.
One thing’s for sure, I’m going to relish the chats I have with partygoers, even though they do all ask me the same questions about being a caricaturist for hire!
Here’s to all the caricaturists, magicians, wedding bands, photographers and all getting back to doing what they love in July(fingers crossed!)
