London, and some of my other favourite places to be a Caricaturist!

London is the city I hail from and has a special place in my heart. Add to that the fact I have a lot of friends and family still there, it remains a favourite place of mine to get the train to a party that’s
booked Pen Jones the Caricaturist!


With this week’s Blogpost I wanted to zoom in on a few of my favourite places to travel to as a caricaturist, and talk about some of the cool experiences I’ve had drawing in London, Manchester,
Birmingham and elsewhere.

LONDON

I’m often hired as a caricaturist down in London quite a lot during Christmas party season, and I had a particularly good time caricaturing for https://anymoment.com/ at the famous Groucho club last year for
the xmas party of a prominent london-based talent agency. A very la-di-dah affair and some great personalities for my caricaturist’s eye to capture!

Another fun gig in London last year was a 70th Birthday I attended in someone’s house.

There were some great personalities to caricature, and the young girl who owned the dog below
got me to caricature it THREE times(!)

BIRMINGHAM

Though London is the playground of my youthful years, Birmingham is my adopted home, the people of Birmingham being some of my favourite folks to draw and chat with.
Aside the practicality of Caricaturing right on my doorstep I love to draw some local folks!
Here below is one of my recent favourite caricatures drawn at a 10-year old’s Birthday in Wednesbury(Yes it’s not quite Birmingham, don’t come for me Black Country folk!)

MANCHESTER

Manchester is a fantastic City, which to my mind definitely rivals London in terms of craic. I’ve done countless events as a Caricaturist in Manchester, including corporate events, weddings, parties and hen nights! Oh and it’s so easy to get up to from Birmingham on the train. Here below is a group caricature I created after the fact of some folks from the company Dr Reddy’s https://www.drreddys.com/ and I made it by taking panoramic photos of the room at the Ivy in Manchester, then doing the caricaturist work from home after the fact.
