Caricaturists draw fast! It’s important, it’s at least half of what we do. I wasn’t always like this, I would pore over a drawing or painting for weeks in an ultra-perfectionist manner before life as a caricaturist, never satisified.
It was only when I decided to try my hand at being a caricaturist that I found out how satisfying it can be to sketch and let go. Being a caricaturist for weddings and parties all over the country for the last decade has refined my work to the point were I can create a pretty good likeness of someone in five minutes, so I thought, hey, why not show that off.
That’s why I laboriously(I’m an elder millenial you know) made this Tiktok to illustrate how I can make a caricature likeness in 5 minutes, plus a cool bit of shading too. Pen nerds, if you’re interested in what I used, it was a Pentel brush pen, a Cool Grey Winsor and Newton Promarker and a Uni-Posca PC.17K.
For anyone interested in booking me this Summer or beyond, I draw 5 minute caricatures that can be great keepsakes for Birthday parties, anniversaries, Hen nights, Wedding parties, corporate affairs and pretty much anywhere where a great icebreaker could be of use.
As a wedding and event entertainer this year has been a predictably unwelcome gap, but it has meant I’m all the more raring to go, so come on folks, BOOK ME!! 😉
P.S; About the Tiktok, hope it worked. I’m a tiktok novice but I’m hoping that it’ll be helpful for people to see me in action and how fast I can go. That was a 5 minute caricature sped up to 1 minute, so at an event I can draw one person per 5 minutes.
